What to expect
Your first appointment!
Be prepared to spend at least 1 hour with us for your first appointment. We’ll spend around 20 minutes getting to know you and asking about your current symptoms along with your health history, so get ready to give us all the juicy details!
Acupuncture treatments
Each treatment session will include one or more than one of our treatment modalities (acupuncture, cupping, moxibustion, etc.) depending on what we decide you need that day.
Self-Care
Think of us as highly trained helpers–we’re aiding your body in the healing process but you’re doing the brunt of the work. That work needs to continue even after you leave our office: we’ll give you at-home care tips and other helpful lifestyle + diet advice.
Acupuncture
Our acupuncture treatments may also include other treatment modalities such as cupping, moxibustion (a heat therapy treatment), acupressure, and application of therapeutic liniments. It all depends on what we feel is necessary for your overall condition.
Herbal Medicine
Our herbal medicine prescriptions are 100% customized to you. While acupuncture is the treatment you receive in our office, herbal medicine is what continues that therapy when you’re out in the world. Our herbal medicines are typically administered in liquid form, packed in vacuum sealed packets that are usually taken twice a day unless otherwise advised. Every herbal medicine prescription is completely different and can contain upwards of 25 individual raw herbs which are cooked for days at a time at a special facility, and are then packaged and delivered to you at our office. Herbal medicine is science — let it do the work for you.
Nutrition & Lifestyle
Food is medicine. No matter what your issue might be, we’re here to support you with diet and lifestyle advice. East Asian medicine isn’t just a system of medicine–it’s a culture. Everything we do, eat, practice is a reflection of Korean culture; we eat and move in harmony with nature, with the seasons–to maintain balance. Because once that balance is broken, our bodies’ natural functions are disrupted.
