Chloe’s Story | Acupuncture for Bell’s Palsy and Physical Recovery

Beyond the Needles: Real Stories, Real Healing

Listen to her story here.

My name is Chloe, and I'm 39 years old. I initially visited Young Choi and Grandmaster Choi after being diagnosed with Bell's Palsy. At first, I went to urgent care, where I was given medication and essentially told that the condition might improve, or it might not. This uncertainty was unsettling, so I researched alternative treatments and discovered that acupuncture could be beneficial for Bell's Palsy.

I had never experienced acupuncture before and was somewhat apprehensive, especially since treating Bell’s Palsy involves placing needles in the face. Despite my initial nervousness, I decided to start acupuncture treatment about two weeks after my diagnosis. I'm grateful I began treatment early, as I learned that delaying could make recovery more challenging.

I've been receiving acupuncture treatments twice a week for approximately three and a half weeks, along with herbal medicine, which I continue to take. The results have been remarkable. The doctors estimate I'm about 90% recovered. Most people wouldn't even notice any remaining symptoms. Previously, I couldn't fully close my eye, which caused constant tearing and required me to tape my eye shut at night. Breathing was difficult because one nostril wouldn't flare properly, and I had to rely heavily on eye drops.

Within just two sessions, I saw significant improvement, and after about a week and a half, the progress was undeniable. Acupuncture has greatly enhanced my comfort and overall quality of life.

I never anticipated becoming such a strong advocate for acupuncture, but now I enthusiastically recommend it to my coworkers and friends. I'm amazed by the wide range of conditions acupuncture can effectively treat. I'm extremely grateful to Young Choi and Grandmaster Choi for their outstanding care and treatment.
